3 Days in a Row

I have now ran 3 days in a row. 11 miles in 3 days. that may not sound like much but it feels like a bunch. it is getting late so once again this will be a quick blog. here are the .5 miles splits for my 5 mile run (slow jog) yesterday: (i didn't hit my watch until just after .5 miles so the first split is an estimate)

.5= 5.0
1.0= 10.16 5.16 170
1.5= 15.41 5.24 171
2.0= 21.1 5.28 172
2.5= 26.42 5.32 169
3.0= 32.14 5.32 171
3.5= 37.31 5.17 168
4.0= 43.21 5.49 170
4.5= 48.46 5.24 170
5.0= 53.53 5.07 172 (finished strong)

it was about 86 degrees and right at dark but still humid. my lower back was tight to start once again and my right hip hurt a little but overall i felt pretty good. that gives me a pace of 10.47 min/mile.

today i ran once again pretty close to dark but i wore all white clothes and my reflective anklet, no close calls.

here are those times in .5 mile splits:

.5= 5.02 155
1.0= 10.13 5.1 167
1.5= 15.38 5.24 168
2.0= 20.59 5.21 166
2.5= 26.2 5.21 163
3.0= 31.49 5.28 166

that gives me a pace of 10.36 min/mile. my heart rate is stating to stay much lower than last week. i think that means it is not as hard for me to run now. my paces have been a little slower but i seem to be working just as hard. not losing any weight, eating habits need to be improved once again. again, my lower back was tight to start the run but it finally loosened up about 1.5 miles. after the run my shins were hurting a little.

i finally ordered some new shoes that are supposed to stabilize my over-pronation/ankle movement, i think these will really help.

i am going to try to get another 8 miler in this weekend, however, starting saturday i will be on call for 4 days in a row. maybe i can squeeze it in sometime. i really didn't want to run tonight but i was afraid if i waited until tomorrow something would come up and i wouldn't get it in. i also kept remembering what cameron hanes wrote "you only regret the runs you don't do." so i couldn't keep from running once i got home. it was only 3 miles, i kept telling myself.

"A mistake is simply another way of doing things."–Katharine Graham. i think this is how i would explain my running form to people that watch me run.
